June 12th, 2008New camp features Booth and ‘Boo’
Native Peorians David Booth and Curley “Boo” Johnson have teamed with businessman Alexis Khazaam to launch the Skills for Life Basketball Academy from Aug. 4-8 at Peoria Academy.
“For a long time, Boo and I have wanted to give something back to the community,” said Booth, a former professional basketball player who now is a scout for the Memphis Grizzlies. “We came from the same place these kids came from. We want to show ‘em there’s light at the end of the tunnel.”
Space is limited and registration is ongoing online at skillsforlifeacademy.com. Peoria Academy is located at 2711 W. Willow Knolls Drive.
