Skills for Life Basketball Academy is a premier summer day camp for young men between 9 and 16 years old. The Academy is coached by internationally renowned basketball players David Booth and Curley “Boo” Johnson with assistance from top high school and college players in the area.

With Johnson’s amazing ball handling skills and Booth’s prowess at the basket, you couldn’t ask for a better coaching team!

Curley Curley “Boo” Johnson
A native Peorian and 1982 graduate of Peoria High School, Johnson played for 18 seasons, from 1988-2006, for the internationally renowned Harlem Globetrotters. Performing on all seven continents and 81 different countries, Johnson inherited the role of dribbling wizard made famous by Marques Haynes and became known as “The World’s Greatest Dribbler.

David BoothDavid Booth
A graduate of Peoria’s Manual High School, former Los Angeles Laker David Booth has had the opportunity to play abroad in such places as Italy, France, Japan and China, at the highest level that basketball has to offer. A professional for over 14 seasons, he is a proven scorer who has captured 7 league scoring titles and remains DePaul University’s second all time leading scorer. Booth stays in the game as a scout for the Memphis Grizzlies.
